R&D award to the Color and Media Computing Laboratory

The Color and Media Computing Laboratory at GUC was awarded the R&D prize (FoU-prisen) under «Mjøskonferansen 2012». - This is an appreciation of the important work done by all the researchers at the laboratory.

- I believe this award increases people's attention to the research done at the Color and Media Computing Laboratory, says Lab Director Marius Pedersen.

The award aims to stimulate research by directing attention to R&D work, and achieve this by honor scientific, educational og artistic work of high quality. The prize is awarded on the basis of documentet research results, and is a reward for activities that have helped to promote the institution's role and reputation.

Today, 20 persons are involved in the research spanning from health techonology, restoration of art, print quality to the optimization of software in vending machines. - The research environment is fantastic! Through several years provided research of international standards and on several occasions received attention for our work. We are very proud of our personnel and PhD students working at the lab today, says Pedersen.

- Besides the original norwegian universities, GUC has a estabilsed itself as the most significant informatics environment, states Morten Irgens - Dean, Faculty of Computer Science and Media Technology.

Accociate Professor Peter Nussbaum, Professor Jon Yngve Hardeberg and Lab director Marius Pedersen received the prize from Oppland Fylkeskommune's representative Kjetil Lundemoen.
