Knowledge – the student:
- Knows methodological principles in research
- Accounts for the literature survey as a method
- Accounts for the nursing field`s perspective on humanity, relational and moral dimensions
- Accounts for the theoretical perspective in nursing
- Accounts for the elements in knowledge-based practice
- Shows comprehensive knowledge about the maintenance of the patient`s basic needs in the examination of illness
- Accounts for the nursing of acutely, critical, long-term and chronically ill patients, based on work, decision-making and documentation processes
- Accounts for the teaching, health-promoting and preventative aspect`s significance for acutely, critically, long-term and chronically ill patients
- Has knowledge about organisation and management in the specialist health services
- Shows insight into health legislation`s regulation of duties and rights among the actors in the health services
Skills – the student:
- Is methodical in written work
- Is structured in searches and the critical review
- Identifies and accounts for ethical challenges and argues for different alternatives of action
- Analyses and discusses professional, legal and ethical issues in patient-related situations
- Utilises main concepts in the description of the responsibility and function of the nursing profession
- Utilises recognised professional and research literature as sources of knowledge related to nursing in simulations involving patients and their relatives
- Shows the ability to engage in creative collaboration about development of an innovative idea as a concrete problem
- Demonstrates co-operation ability in developing a creative, innovative idea as response to a defined problem

- Shows understanding of the significance of proffesional development, research and innovation connected to clinical nursing
