All practical skills are rooted in ITIL framework for IT Service Management. ITIL is the leading standard for best practice in IT-support which everybody working in this field has to relate to both in present and future.
Language: The lectures are mainly held in Norwegian.
Duration
3 years180 ECTS creditsUndergraduate programme leading to a Bachelor's degree. The study programme is offered by the Faculty of Computer Science andMedia Technology.
Expected learning outcomes
The study will provide the students with the necessary skills to enter junior positions as network administrator or system administrator. The students will be trained in practical and theoretical aspects of computers and networks, focusing on the core principles of policy, scalability, reliability and security.
The study has a special emphasis on:
- Basic technological subjects – It is a goal to give the students a fundamental technological understanding since that’s a necessary platform to work efficient with tasks related to IT-operation
- Administration of IT-solutions – It is a goal to make the students understand the necessity to establish automatic and safe routines of IT-operations. The students are able to formulate and document these routines.
Target Group
Students looking for a combined theoretical and practical studyprogramme in computer science focused on administration of computers andnetworks.
Admission Criteria
General matriculation requirement + Mathematics R1 (2MX).
Course Structure
The programme combines topics from classical computer science educationwith practical work administrating computers and networks, and alsomanagement oriented topics to provide a solid understanding of ITservice management in general and how an IT infrastructure has to worktowards fulfilling the overall goals of its host organization and customers.
