Expected learning outcomes
This course gives a fundamental understanding of sentral legal principles, focussing on the roles of law making authorities, legal practitioners and of the judiciary as applied to the activities of the building and construction industries. On completing the course, students will be able to:
- Explain relevant current laws, rules and regulations as they affect society
- Apply these laws etc concerning planning and building permission matters
- Explain the procedures involved in negotiating and agreeing land boundaries and property subdivisions
- Interpret and understand official land use planning documents and explain the planning prosedures as applied by local authorities
