Expected learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student shall:
- Have good knowledge about how humans perceive colour, colorimetry, colour specification, instrumental and subjective methods for colour measurement and colour assessment
- Have knowledge about how image and colour information is digitized, processed, and optimised for publication in different media
- Understand the challenges of achieving consistent and accurate colour reproduction in different media, as well as being able to utilize state-of-the-art technology for effective colour management in media production

- Colour. Human colour vision, the eye’s construction and function, perceptual response to visual stimuli
- Colorimetry. Colorimetric measurement methods, specificaiton of colour, colour spaces and color difference
- Input/output devices. Technologies and algorithms for image acquisition and reproduction
- Digital image processing. Adjustment of image and colour information for miscellaneous media and processes. Image enhancement
- Colour Management. Use of relevant hardware, software, and methods for control and adjustment of colour information for different media in accordance with the ICC specification
- Relevant standards. International and national standards and recommendation for image reproduction and colour management
- Image quality. Evaluation of factors affecting the quality of the reproduction
