This programme is aimed at academic staff in the public health sector and higher educational institutions. It offers ECTS credit qualifying skills for planning, development, implementation and evaluation of learning via the web. The Online Education programme runs part time over the course of three semesters and is a freestanding programme.
The purpose of this programme is to qualify its participants to adopt new technologies in education and training. Students will learn to take an objective view of new media for online education in an area of ever-changing technologies.
The programme covers three topics, each earning 10 ECTS credits:
Depending on the content and context, more than one topic may be taught during one semester and the topics may overlap in time.
The Online Education programme runs part time and consists of nine assemblies over three semesters with net based studies in the time in between. The assemblies are full day sessions on campus, although the number of assemblies will vary with topic.
The programme is a deliberate mixture of collective work sessions, individual and group based work through the web. Committed participation in joint academic online activities is expected, and students must actively work with their fellow students.
To ensure a good practical foundation, each student will work on an individual project. This may be a training programme or course they are responsible for in their daily work. Work on these projects will take place in groups during the campus assemblies as well as individually in the time in between. In addition to staff guidance the students will guide and coach one another as practical training in online guidance.
