Research efforts with NTNU

Torbjørn Digernes og Jørn Wroldsen A new agreement on cooperative research efforts between GUC and NTNU was signed just before Christmas. - We look forward to strengthening our ties with NTNU, says Rector Jørn Wroldsen.

The agreement will make it easier for individual admission to NTNU's PhD program. In defined areas where both institutions have strong research communities, both parties welcome closer cooperation. They especially want to encourage cooperative research and educational efforts between GUC, NTNU and the industrial cluster at Raufoss.

- This is very positive, it states that NTNU recognizes our scientific community, Wroldsen emphazises. - Cooperation with SINTEF Raufoss Manufacturing is important to us, and NTNU also recognizes the opportunities here for even further cooperative research efforts.

In addition to GUC and NTNU agreeing on cooperative research efforts, there was also agreement on the development of a joint Master`s degree in Lean/Efficient Manufacturing. - Our goal is to make this possible and that the joint Master`s degree can be started autumn 2011. Possibly, some courses could already start in autumn 2010, supplements the dean Torbjørn Skogsrød at the Faculty of Technology, Economy and Management.
