Wins Kaspersky Conference
PhD student Mark Seeger won this year's "International Round" of the Kaspersky "IT Security for the Next Generation" conference.
Mark Seeger is a PhD student at the Center for Advanced Security Research Darmstadt (CASED) in Germany and the Gjøvik University College (GUC). The Kaspersky "IT Security for the Next Generation" conference was held in Munich from April 13 - 15.
Seeger competed with the 11 winners from the regional conferences such as the "Asia Pacific & MEA Cup 2011" and presented his work called "The Cost of Observation for Intrusion Detection: Performance Impact of Concurrent Host Observation". -It was a great conference, a tough competition among all participants and fun evenings with students, professors and experts from all over the world, says Seeger.
Next to a certificate and marketing souvenirs, Mark was given a cash price and an invitation to the Kaspersky "Security Analyst Summit 2011", to be held in Malaga, Spain from June 19-23.
