Sophisticated robots with artificial intelligence are not something that belongs to the future. – Students at Faculty of Computer Science and Media Technology have just adopted new robots in the classroom, says Associate Professor Sule Yildirim.
”The IntelliBrain-Bots” are educational mobile robots. - The software development environment is Java-enabled. It has servo motors, LCD display, infrared sensors, infrared and ultrasonic range sensors, and infrared line sensors, Yildirim explains. These robots can line follow, generate sound, make left right and left turnings, turn around themselves, be programmed for path following etc. -The robots will be augmented with cameras and will also be used in Image Processing and Advanced Video Processing Courses , Yildirim adds.
- This provides many benefits for our students, and shows that GUC pays attention to the technological development, Yildirim points out. And no doubt, the students (pictured) enjoyed the new "IntelliBrain Bots" very much in their first lesson.
The following programmes of study at GUC will use the robots: Bachelor in Mediatechnology, Bachelor in Game Engineering, Master i Information Security, Master in Media Technology og Master in CIMET.
