In recent years, the media world has gone through a digital revolution. Equipment, speed and increased opportunities improve continuously. Media and IT industry working together on the development of new forms of production and distribution. At the same time, prices on the tools for producing and distributing have been lower, and the tools are easy to use. Therefore, all types of businesses, teams and organizations and individuals today can create and disseminate information in multimedial forms.
The continuous development of new technology and communication lead to increased demand for expertise in digital media, how to best design and produce content to be noticed and understood, how to best plan productions, with budget and implementation, and how technology best can be merged together to create new and better media products. To address this we need expertise. Faculty of Computer Science and Media Technology has a complex and a "complete" academic environment with expertise in: media design, media production, media technology, media management and color science and imaging.
The Artificial Sky is an important element of Daylight Laboratory at the Department of Architectural Design, Form and Colour Studies, NTNU, Trondheim. It simulates a totally overcast sky, i.e. overcast enough to prevent perception of the sun and its halo. Among other tasks, the Artificial Sky can be used to perform psychophysical experiments for a number of different purposes. In a current experiment the influence of different window classes in house architecture and the corresponding human colour perception in the room have been investigated.

The 26th and 27th of April the Norwegian Color Research Laboratory (Colorlab) organized a Color Workshop at HiG on the topic of Recent Trends in Color Imaging
. The Workshop highlighted recent trends in Color Imaging, such as Image Restoration, Forensics, Watermarking, Bio-informatics and signal processing and some of the current project works undertaken within the Colorlab.
