As a new student or employee you are automatically assigned a user account for access to the school's computer systems. Before you can use this account you have to activate it by supplying your social security number (the Norwegian one) and your PIN code. At the same time you will be choosing your password which will be used to access all the school's computer systems. When you activate your user account you commit yourself to the school's IT regulations.
If you can't find the help you need via the resources above, please send an e-mail to helpdesk@hig.no , use the contact form or call us at 61 13 53 00. You can also visit us personally, our offices are located in the basement of the K building, look for the signs with «IT-tjenesten» on them, and follow them.You will also usually find a lab assistant in the computer lab C005 every day, who can assist you with minor problems.
When you contact us, please supply us your student number or username, e-mail address, and a phone number so we can reach you. If there is a problem with a specific computer or other equipment, please note the registration number that is engraved on the device.
The IT department is responsible for all computer related equipment on campus, this includes for instance printers and computers. If a computer runs out of toner, contact us and we will resupply it.
