Discipline

The Head Librarian is responsible for managing, directing and leading the day to day provision of library services for Gjøvik University College. The position include all functions necessary to carry out Program Development, manage Public Relations, day to day Library Administration and Personnel management. The Head Librarian also provides strategic leadership and vision.

Background

The Head Librarian holds a Bachelor in library and information science. He is also educated in pedagogy and information technology. The Head Librarian has been working in higher education institutions since 1997, and he has served in different positions in professional organizations as the Library Union in Norway (BF) and the library-board of the Norwegian Association of Higher Education (UHR).
