Expected learning outcomes
After completing this course, the students shall have an understanding of the concept and principles of management in media companies, in terms of technical organization and the production related issues.
The main purpose of this course is to learn about the processes and procedures in media companies and how media companies are organized. Students shall be able to recognize and describe differences and similarities between different media companies in terms of planning procedures and quality control. By participating in company visits, students will be able to develop skills and knowledge regarding the production system of media companies. Furthermore, the students shall recognize and understand how development and innovation processes are integrated in media companies.
Topic(s)
The topics of the project work are related to production processes, department and division structure and responsibilities. A detailed production plan including appropriate procedures and equipment needs to be elaborated. Furthermore, procedures for quality control need to be addressed and discussed.
Finally, the students have to demonstrate the ability of reflecting and summarizing relevant issues, and point out potential areas for changes.

External/internal examiner
The person responsible for the course will grade the exam. An external examiner will be used in addition every forth year. Next time for the external examiner will be in 2016.
Re-sit examination
Ordinary sit for the written exam.
If the project work is “not approved" a new project work is required. The new project work will be reviewed and assessed next time the course is arranged.
Coursework Requirements
The project report written by the student group (max four students) has to be approved. The project results have to be presented by the students in front of the class.
All students are required to contribute in writing a report from the study excursion. Students who are not taking part of the study excursion are required to write an individual project work defined by the course responsible. Both reports have to be approved.
