Expected learning outcomes
The students acquire understanding of and ability to calculate the most basic problems concerning statics and strength of materials.
The students explain basic principles, understand when methods may be used or may not be used, show ability to use their understanding to solve problems.
Topic(s)
1) Statics: Fundamental concepts, two dimensional force systems, objects and structures in equilibrium, cables, centroids, english terms, and more.
2) Strength of materials: Analysis of stress and strain, elasticity, shearing force and bending moments, stress and deformation of beams, buckling, torque, english terms, and more.
