Expected learning outcomes

The students will acquire the skills that are necessary to develop an idea into a product

The programme focuses on two areas:
Product design; focus on idea development with creative processes, innovation, requirement, specification, choice of materials, form and surface, enviromental requirement specification, shortage of resources and product recovery.
Product design and management; focus on financial and environment-friendly production processes, communication, market, laws and regulations.

One completion of the course, the students will be qualified to work with:

Internationalization

The students have the possibility to take the autumn semester of the final year abroad. The department cooperates with Karlstad University and Högskolan in Sweeden (throuh the UNISKA network), and both these institutions have similar programmes. Other alternatives are the Fachhochschule in Germany and South Dakota Schoole of Mines and Technology in the USA.

Admission Criteria

General matriculation standard with special requirements in Mathematics R2 (3MX) and Physics1 (2FY).
