The students shall master the mathematical foundations necessary for understanding the topics of the following course "Digital media representation", and be aquainted with the program Matlab.


- Linear algebra and vector spaces
- Affine coordinates and transformations
- Complex numbers
- Fourier series
- Discrete and continuous Fourier transform
- DCT (Discrete cosine transform)
- Wavelets and wavelet transforms
- The sampling theorem
